Welcome to Boconnoc Cricket Club - Established 1846
Home Ground - The Deer Park, Boconnoc
The Chairman, committee and players welcome to the home of Boconnoc Cricket Club.
Queen Victoria had been on the throne for only nine years when Boconnoc Cricket Club was formed in 1846 and the club have been playing at the picturesque Deer Park, which lays claim to being the longest continuous use of any cricket ground in Cornwall, ever since.
The club field two Saturday League teams: the 1st XI playing in Cornwalls' Division 2 East and a 2nd XI playing in Division 5 East.[Gannel] In addition there is a friendly XI which plays a number of matches against both local and touring opposition throughout the season.
The club has a fully licensed bar which has proved a great success with players and supporters alike. So, if you just fancy a quite drink in the tranquil surroundings whilst watching a game of cricket, there will be a team playing at home for the majority of Saturdays during the summer season.
Boconnoc also have two qualified coaches to develop younger players wishing to progress in the sport. As part of our commitment to safe, effective & child friendly youth cricket, Boconnoc Cricket Club has adopted the ECB's "Safe Hands - Welfare of Young People in Cricket" policy.
I urge anyone wishing to find out more information about the club or interested in joining to email me. Club nets ,with the bowling machine in situ, take place on Tuesday and Thursday, weather permitting , at the Deer Park so feel free to come along.
If you are considering joining, we have no annual subscriptions, instead we believe in a pay-as-you-play policy. Therefore you have nothing to lose from joining such a high spirited, friendly team. I'm sure after a few games you will feel as an integral part of the team as those who have been plying their trade for many a year.
